The 5th Annual ASU Hockey Banquet and Skills Competition was held on April 21, 2001. While eating a rousing dinner of Chicken Marseles, Ziti, Rolls, and All-Sport, ASU Geto Boys received awards and recognition. Immediately following that, the Upstate-Downstate Skill Competition was held, with the prize being the keg for that evening. With the events tied 2-2, Upstate beat former AHL goaltender Coach Scott Card 4 straight times to win the Competition. Later that evening, the team assembled at 174 Western Ave. for a party to celebrate.
