It turns out that my fears that I would be given a random roommate have been unfounded…for now at least. And to be honest, being in a default single kinda blows given that it’s like a deserted hallway in here. I dread to see what’ll happen if I’m in a default single all semester long, even though at least one person I know insisted that I would have a roommate even if it was someone I was totally incompatible with. This aloneness seems to breed aloneness, since I haven’t visited as many people as I thought I’d visit so far. Maybe when classes start up again tomorrow things’ll get back to normal.

For the curious, I ended up swiping the Gateway monitor in the interim to hook up to the laptop, still no separate keyboard yet. Sadly, in my laptop debate I ended up leaving a lot more at home:-p. Though with the arctic torture that’s going on up here, is a fan to blow the hot air out of my room really that necessary? And people say we’re undergoing global warming when the winters have gone cold and the summers have gone mild? Then again, we’re due for a new ice age.
