ANTI-PDA LEAGUE (APL) |
|
As most of us are online and use the AOL Instant Messager frequently, we are well-familiar with an abomination of this service, that of the PDA online. We see many a time away messages and profiles reflecting a relationship that a user is in. We have examples of such and you can read them HERE. Should we be subjected to this? I say "NO". Keep your mushy comments about your significant other to yourself and save us the gag reflex. Do not belittle your feelings by putting them in such a impersonal medium as the IM. It's like you have a wonderful diamond, and rather than get a posh display case for it, you keep it in the medicine cabinet or in the top drawer of your desk. This petition was started in September of 2001 and shall continue to be signed as time goes on. The following AOL IM users support "the abolishment of all PDA, lovey-dovey, and all gross IM profiles/Away Messages. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." ***NEW***In addition to the Anti-PDA League's petition. Bob "The Ninja" Burgess has written an article on the dos and don'ts of Instant Messaging. All you lawbreakers read it and internalize it. |
