Perched atop a cloud floating in the sky, with his head turned upward quizzically, Shawn Bates ponders many of life's mysteries. No decisions get made without asking "What Would Shawn Bates Do"? Playing for the New York Islanders allows Shawn Bates an understanding of the universe and its workings that many mortals do not possess.
